Post a pic of the mug and then let us compete for it! And no, the "I peed next to..." Game is not worthy of such a fine prize...

The downtownmakeover site shows some architects' renderings of the finished project:

Ahh, the Golden Phoenix. The scene of many a good evening. Love that I can still see it as the backdrop of the movie, "The Cooler".

I was thinking of buys one of their Condo's till I found out
they were removing the pedestrian over pass to the casino.
That would of been really Cool. Also if they would of left the over
pass to the train tracks there and the eldo had added there share
We could of covered 3 or 4 blocks with out touching the streets.

Spdmrch:

There are tons of clouded titles in old downtown . I recall an issue about 20 years ago about the skybridges and property taxes.

Most of downtown was given to the railroad as a spiff to build across the US.

BUT when they sold it off, they retained title to the streets (which was resolved) but retained title to the airspace above it. I'm not sure who has been paying property taxes on those sky bridges all these years.

If you are a glutton for punishment, read "The Fitz for Dummies' that explores the complicated real estate ownership in that area for YEARS.

http://renorealtyblog.com/2011/02/the-fitz-for-dummies.html

------------------------------------

All technicalities count. Who owns what, who leases what, who is responsible for what, and who signed for what will be come critical issues. Just saying “Fernando” or the “Fitz” or even “Reno” doesn’t cut it anymore – it is much more complex than that.

There will be some holes and some documents missing in what I’m trying to put together. This is a work in progress, and your input and links to fill in those holes are important to making this post worthwhile. So comment away and add to the discussion.

And Lily... If you want one of those white with pink Logo Flamingo Coffee cups, let me know.

That is what I would call a Super Sized Can of Worms.
My take on the Removal of the skybridges was the
doing's of the City of Reno. What was there reasoning
behind doing that? Any Ideas?

That looked to be nicer than your average Reno "touristy" mug. A little too pink for a macho dude like me, but nice all the same. Too bad you missed it Lily.

Yeah, I didn't expect it to sell that quickly. Now, if I can just get rid of the pink ( ). Shocked

Hey Lily. Are you guys still in California? I ask because I have a white coffee mug with that same logo you can HAVE if you want it.

Remind me and I'll give it to John to hand off to you if you haven't been reassigned to Wyoming or someplace FAR away from Virginia St.
