Drove up to Reno from San Francisco w/ a friend of mind, he had not been in Reno for over 5 years, and wanted to check it out. I was his tour guide.
Booked our room at Harrahs. Since it was Saturday to Monday, Harrahs gave me a room rate of $185 for saturday night, and free for sunday night. Prior to leaving SF for Reno, I had check the rates again, I was able to get it down to $165 for saturday night, and still free for sunday.
Saturday night, we ate at the Italian Restaurant in Harrahs after meeting up with some friends, food was good, had eaten there before with my wife. My friend played 4 card poker all night long until 3am I played different slots machines, Found the Pharaoh slot machines that John had played before, interesting machine, like he said, you can win and you can lose also. I won couple of hundreds off that machine. and that music stays in your head.
Sunday, I drove my friend over to Country Bear Resturant for breakfast, gives alot of food and the price is right. Then we drove over to Peppermill casino, walked thru it, He stated too much neon light for him, make him dizzy, stated this casino reminded him of Carnival cruise line ship. so we left, and drove over to Atlandtis casino, walked thru the place and he wanted to check out the buffet, I told him it was a hit and miss on the buffet. so we walked thru the buffet to see what kind of food they were cooking up, looks good this time. should of just grabbed a plate and ate while we walked thru it. really didn't have to sit down, No we did not eat , and yes we could have done that.
I found a new slot machine at Atlantis, " Deal or No Deal ", played it for half an hour, won $90 from it. Talk about gamblling with this slot machine. We then drove over to Siena casino, very quiet at this property, Played slot machine " Deal Or No Deal " won $50 off this machine also.my friend played poker again for about an hour. then we left and hitted back to Harrahs. Parked the car, and walked over to Eldorado and Silver legacy. My friend didn't care too much about these property for gambling, so we hitted back to Harrahs and gamble the rest of the night. Dinner was at the Steak house at Harrahs, very good Steak, my friend enjoyed very much. $$$ would go back again also.
Check out of hotel today, had to go to the front desk, they were going to charge me for sunday night, front desk agent check it out and fixed it for me. My only complaint, wanted non smoking room, they didn't have any, and gave us a smoking room, stated it shouldn't smell. but it did!! water pressure was very low for wash basin, what a joke. but otherwise had a good time. |

Glad to hear you had a nice trip.
The Peppermill can be a little much at first in the main casino area. It is pretty bright. There are areas though that aren't as bad.
I wonder if they have deal or no deal at the Peppermill? I love that tv show and will have to find it and try it out.

Alison,
I think you will enjoy it very much, not only are you putting coins in the machine, but you have to believe the first suitcase you pick is the biggest amount, now this is call GAMBLING! I have watched other players play this game also, and they go all out, and ending up with small amount. |
