This was our first trip to Reno -- we have gone to LV many times in the past 20 years, but for our anniversary (#49) decided to try Reno. Really enjoyed the trip.
Transportation: Flew American from Chicago -- left on time, arrived on time. Left Reno on time and arrived back home on time. Full planes both ways. Appreciated the shuttle bus to hotel (we taxied back to airport)
Hotel: Stayed in mini-suite in Circus Circus. First time ever to stay in CC as we do not even visit CC in LV. Too hectic there. But in Reno -- very pleasantly surprised. Check-in quick and smooth and early! Staff everywhere in hotel was very friendly and helpful. From the windows in the rooms could see sunrise in the AM and the sunset in PM -- very nice! Rooms were clean and well furnished. I would like to have seen fluffier towels and a larger TV -- but all-in-all, was satisfied.
Food: we ate when we were hungry. No fancy meals anywhere.
Gambling: both husband and I are 99% video poker players and we found enough machines to satisfy us. No big wins, but did keep pretty even. Husband won some money the Elvis machine and a little on WOF. I prefer VP.
Thoughts:
Liked Reno -- will probably return again. Still like LV but it has become so expensive . Reno is a good change of pace. Rained while we were there so didn't get out of the CC, Silver Legacy, Eldorado area.
Drink service in the casino was outstanding. Waitresses remembered what we drank and would come around to see if we were ready for another one.
Hope you enjoy reading. |
