We are taking our first trip to Reno at the end of next month. It's a charter from Dayton Ohio to Harrahs. I have a few questions that I hope you can help with.
Has anyone ever taking one of these Harrahs charters? Are they always full? Are seats assigned?
How are the high limit slot rooms in Reno. We are one , five , and ten dollar players depending on the degree of winning. ( have also been penny players depnding on wins LOL)
Is there transportation available to Lake Tahoe? We wanted to go over for a day just to look around .
Is there a good blues music bar with in walking distance from Harrahs? Any problems walking aroung at night?
I know I have a lot of questions but hopefully you all can help.
Thanks in advance

Can't help you there. We're strictly low limit players and Reno has lots of low limit tables. $1-$5-$10 doesn't really sound like high limits but should get you pretty good comps in Reno at most places. I know Peppermill has a high limit area, but haven't noticed in other casinos. Harrah's probably has high limit areas too.

It's worth the trip. There's a shuttle that goes from the airport but it's probably cheaper and more convenient to rent a car. You could also check with Harrah's. They have 3 casinos in Stateline/Lake Tahoe and might have transportation between them for guests.

"Is there a good blues music bar with in walking distance from Harrahs?"

Yes. Third Street Blues Bar. Exit Harrah's to Virginia Street. Turn right and walk about one block, just across the train trench. Turn left and walk 1.5 blocks. The bar is mid-block on your right, just behind Eldorado's parking ramp. In Las Vegas you'd still be in the hotel after walking that distance.

"Any problems walking aroung at night?"

Not between the main casinos. There's usually lots of other people and security. It can look kind of spooky a couple blocks away, but I've never had any problems. Still, most people would prefer not to take the chance and stick to the main areas.

"I know I have a lot of questions but hopefully you all can help."

Ask away. We'll do our best.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info Remano. Forgot to mention that we are slot players. My wife plays a little $5 video poker also.
Plan to go to Harrahs steakhouse one evening. Seems to have a pretty good reputation.
Any other restuarants that anyone would suggest?
Thanks

There's at least two "High Limit" slot areas in the El Dorado, which is within spitting distance from Harrah's; one on the ground floor, and one on the next floor up. I think a minimum "High Limit" bet in those areas is $5, going all the way up to $100.
There might be one in Silver Legacy (next door to El Dorado) as well, but I can't recall clearly.
As for walking around downtown at all hours, no biggie, even though there's definitely panhandlers, bums, and freaks aplenty - just like any other downtown; don't let that bother you, though it might be a bit cold at that time of the year.
