One other thing to avoid at the Peppermill. The poker machines in the new sports book bar don't pay full value for a royal unless you have max coins bet. And that's a helluva lot of coins - 50 nickels or dimes (don't remember the quarters) and 25 dollars.
It won't be long before the Peppermill is as bad as the downtown casinos. I'm looking for 6-5 blackjack next. |

Hey Remano thanks for the snow update. Looks like I'm getting skunked again...it may be warmer there than it is here in FL! Hope it holds out though, they're saying a 7 to 9 foot base at Mammoth.
Alison, there's a photo of the new sports book (I think) on Tripadvisor that some lady just posted a couple of days ago. I saw it last night when I was posting my "Zero-Star-With-Photos" review of Montbleu. The link is
http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviewImages-g45992-d114917-rb0-Peppermill_Hotel_Casino-Reno_Nevada.html
I was going to post my review of the Pep next but I think I'm going to wait until I get back, so I have more pictures and can do a "dual review."

I got my mailer today. No free play for me. Also, no 4 of a kind bonus coupon, and my Match play went down to only $15. You have to admit though- it is one of the best layed out and nicest mailer that any casino sends out. |

i actually asked my friend in marketing at the Pep about the Preview magazine. I asked if the Pep was cutting back on free play offes he said they werent. that they are jsut changing things up and that there are other offers that are much better.
My matchplay wen't from $50.00 to $25.00 in my Preview. Dining coupon was still $50.00. No more Mr Money coupon though.
I will check out tripadvisor. I noticed there is a photo of the sportsbook in the new Preview. it looks nice.
Im jonesing to get back to Reno!! |

The Mr Money's free play challenge rules have changed. Used to be when you got to say, level 3 and got a "sorry" on level 4, you collected the winnings for level 2. Now, you collect $0.

At the drawing on Sunday, the Mr. Money guy asked the crowd if they'd like the new game changed back to the old one. After a very enthusiastic response, he said, "OK, half an hour after the drawing, I'll change it back to the old game."
I haven't checked it since then, but I assume it's now back to the original Mr. Money game.
It was very impressive to see him ask the crowd of regulars what they think, and promptly respond to their desires. It's so un-casino-like. _________________ Everyone knows it's unlucky to be superstitious! |

I must admit, the new sports book area was really nice. I was amazed at how/where they actually put it. You almost have to see it for yourself to believe it.
Sorry Allison, I did not take any pics
One other feature that I Loved was the travel info center near the bell desk. They had the same monitors you would see at the Reno airport showing you any delays for departures or arriving flights. They also had 2 computers right below the monitors where you could log onto any airline and print your boarding passes (no more going to the front desk or business center to do this) |

Thats nice that they have a computer now out front for people to print boardign passes instead of having to go to the business center. |

I'm amazed. Went to the Pepermill today and won a trip to the Mr. Money Freeplay Challenge. They didn't lie to you, Joe...the rules have reverted back to the original game. Chalk one up for the Peppermill. |

My Preview flyer was seriously downgraded. No Freeplay (used to be $25) and my food credit dropped from $50 to $25. I do have to admit I haven't given them much play in the last couple of years, so it was expected.
