Like it says.......heading to Reno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have not made a reno trip since HON last year although a road trip was in order. Myself and the rest of the car load will be pulling out of Bend Oregon by 4pm this afternoon. We always stay at the dumpy old Cal-neva and seem to like it that way. Was alittle dissapointed when I called yesterday and my hotel Mgr no longer is a employee? We have a show & dinner booked friday at the eldo and seeing wayne brady sat night......thats it for plans other then a awfull awfull tonight. Cant wait to get into town and get a drunk on for the weekend.......off to the goodwill for some shoes....free shots at brews brothers for each pair of donated shoes....Later Slacker |

Good man - keep supporting the Cal-Neva, they need our patronage more than ever!
Not sure about the shoe donations, as I usually like to have my feet covered when walking around downtown Reno - but I'll consider it! |

Glad to hear someone is off to have a good time.
Yes, Stan that is a weird promotion they have going there.
A free flu shot for the shoeless.
I was just about ready to throw away my old lawnmowing shoes, but maybe I will donate them on my next trip. |

Wow Reno is going downhill. Last time I was there Brew Brothers was a happening micro brew pub with live entertainment. Now it's just a place to drop off old shoes in exchange for a needle of something in the arm? |

Sorry for the delay......best trip to reno in a long time. Rolled into reno at about 11pm thur night. We checked in, dropped the bags and headed to the bar at the calneva. We played and drank till the wee hours and all did good at the bartop poker machines, I ended up about $700 up. Fri was started about noon and was a drink fest till we went to dinner at the Eldo then the show illuminair.....show was only $15 but I would pass if it was free. Back to calneva for more drinks and poker....$500 up for friday
Sat was more of the same, then we went to the wayne brady show at silver legacy and it was great! Headed home Sun morn, everyone left with money in there pockets. We are now ready for another road trip to reno. |

I've had better than average luck at the Cal Neva bartops too. But your streak of luck (combined with your friends) is freaky! Way to go! |

A trip to Reno? And fun? And PROFITABLE?
Sorry, but your summary has been found insufficient by the board. We insist on a full-fledged trip report; please post such in the "Trip Report" section under a new topic labeled as such. Please expand on every conceivable detail, in no less than 10,000 words (5,000 word-reports are acceptable for unprofitable trips, but yours appears to have fallen well outside that category.)
Either way, good work! That is, as is said, what we're all "talkin' about".

Is in not called the Nevadian now? Yes I liked it when they used the connected hotel as they even had cheap suites, but its ok. The bar was running a special of 5 kamikasis for $5, said they just cut it back from 10 for $10.
Wish I was on my way, maybe next time. Most of all HAVE FUN and tip your cocktail staff, a smile and a $10 tip off the bat and they really remember you all weekend. Easy to be a high roller at the Ol Cal-neva
